My DC Story
Why I choose D.C. How One City Kept Feeling Like Home
The very first time I visited Washington, D.C., I had just moved to the U.S. It was a long time ago, but I still remember how the city made me feel — like I had found a little piece of home.
DC gave me something I missed:
✨A busy city full of people, energy, and life — but not in a way that felt overwhelming or chaotic.
✨ It moved quickly, but not too fast.
✨ It was busy, but calm when it needed to be like the city paused, just enough for people to rest and recharge. And the most special part?
DC feels like a perfect mix — city life and countryside calm, all in one place. It has the rhythm of a big city, but also the quiet corners that help you breathe. It’s a place where people come from everywhere — all over the world — with their own cultures, languages, and dreams. And yet, somehow, it still feels welcoming. The people are kind. And even when I was new here — they made me feel like I wasn’t alone.
Now, after many years of working in D.C. I still feel the same way. The city still gives me energy. It still inspires me. It still feels like home. That first visit gave me so much good energy.
💛 That’s why I’m still falling in love with DC again and again.
